Gran Canaria tiene dos caras totalmente diferenciadas. Las dos son maravillosas, y ambas son muy características de la isla, pero cada una de ellas está preparada para un tipo de vacaciones, de personas, o de planes en familia.

Cuando vienes a Gran Canaria, ¿lo haces para disfrutar de sus playas o quieres conocer sus rutas del interior de la isla?

Hablamos de disfrutar de la playa, pero nos referimos también a todo lo que la rodea o la envuelve, a todo aquello que hace que las playas sean especiales. Las playas de Gran Canaria no son únicamente para tomar el sol. Los paseos por la orilla de la Playa de Maspalomas son inolvidables. Inspiradores, relajantes, recargan de energía a todo aquel que disfruta de un rato sobre su arena mojada y contemplando uno de los atardeceres más bonitos de la isla. Disfrutar de sus dunas y de los paisajes que crean, se convierte también en uno de los planes perfectos y los musts para los que vienen a Gran Canaria con frecuencia.

Playa es también el paseo que la recorre. Como en el caso de la Playa de Las Canteras, que cuenta con uno de más de tres kilómetros en el que no faltan las terrazas y una gran variedad de planes de ocio. Esta playa está considerada como una de las mejores playas urbanas del mundo. Arena dorada, aguas transparentes, una barra de coral que forma un mar muy diferente al que estás acostumbrado a ver… Las puestas de sol en la Playa de Las Canteras son espectaculares, con el Auditorio resguardado de altas montañas que hacen que el sol se esconda de una forma tímida pero segura.

Sucede lo mismo cuando hablamos de rutas. No nos referimos exclusivamente a los senderos preparados para conocer en profundidad de isla. También hablamos de los pueblos de Gran Canaria. De conocerlos, de pasear por sus calles, de conocer a sus gentes… en definitiva, empaparse de la historia, cultura y costumbres de Gran Canaria.

Cada pueblo tiene su historia, su forma de vida, y sus gentes, que han sido criadas de formas totalmente diferentes si su pueblo es de interior o de costa. Los pueblos de interior basaban (y basan) su vida y su economía en la ganadería y agricultura. Siempre se dice que la gente de campo es muy noble, ya que están acostumbrados a una vida tranquila y sin mucha gente alrededor.

En cambio, los pueblos de costa, viven del mar. La vida en el mar es muy dura, eso dicen siempre ellos. Dedicarse a la pesca, vivir de ella, y de todo lo que ofrece el mar, es muy complicado. Ellos ven los amaneceres desde sus barcas ya en alta mar, y llegan a casa tras ver el atardecer también en él. Los pescadores son personas fuertes y valientes, y eso se refleja en el carácter de los pueblos costeros y de las familias que allí viven.

Tanto con unos como con otros, las conversaciones son muy interesantes. Cualquiera de ellos está siempre encantado de contar su vida, las curiosidades del pueblo, o de contar anécdotas graciosas de lo que allí pasaba (y pasa).

We are talking about enjoying the beach, but this includes everything that surrounds or envelops it, everything that makes beaches such special places. The beaches of Gran Canaria are not just for sunbathing. A walk along the shore of Maspalomas Beach is an unforgettable, inspiring, relaxing experience, that will recharge the energy of all those who enjoy spending time on the wet sand while watching one of the most beautiful sunsets on the island. The dunes of Maspalomas and the landscapes they create, are also one of the most perfect plans and a must-visit for those who come to Gran Canaria frequently.

The beach is also the promenade that runs along it. As in the case of Las Canteras Beach, which has a promenade that stretches over three kilometers, with plenty of terraced cafés and a wide variety of leisure plans. This beach is considered one of the best urban beaches in the world. Golden sand, crystal-clear waters, a natural barrier reef known as La Barra, that protects the bay and shapes a sea unlike any other you’ve ever seen… The sunsets at Las Canteras Beach are spectacular, with the Auditorium in the background, sheltered by high mountains making the sun go down timidly but surely.

The same thing happens when we talk about routes. We are not speaking only about the trails that are waiting for you to get to know the island in depth. We also include the villages of Gran Canaria. We are talking about getting to know the towns, walking through their streets, meeting their people… in short, soaking up the history, culture and customs of Gran Canaria.

Each town has its own history, its way of life, and its people, who have been raised in totally different ways depending on where their town is located, inland or on the coast. Inland villages used to base (and they still base) their life and economy on livestock and agriculture. It is always said that country people are good and honest, as they are used to a quiet life without many people around.

The villages on the coast, on the other hand, live off the sea. Life at sea is very hard, that’s what they always say. To dedicate oneself to fishing, living off fishing and off everything the sea has to offer, can be very complicated. Fishermen watch the sunrise from their boats, already at sea, and they come home after seeing the sunset from there as well. Fishermen are strong and brave people, and this is reflected in the character of the coastal villages and the families who live there.

With any of them, conversations are very interesting. They are always happy to tell visitors about their life, the curiosities of the village, or funny anecdotes of what happened (and still happen) there.

Die Strände von Gran Canaria laden nicht nur zum Sonnenbaden ein. Die Spaziergänge am Strand von Maspalomas sind unvergesslich. Inspirierend, entspannend, zum Energie auftanken, eine Weile im nassen Sand verbringen und einen der schönsten Sonnenuntergänge der Insel anzuschauen.

Mit seinen Dünen und den von ihnen geschaffenen Landschaften wird es auch zu einem der perfekten Plan und Muss für diejenigen, die häufig nach Gran Canaria kommen.

Strand ist auch die Promenade die an ihm entlangläuft. Wie im Fall vom Las Canteras Strand, der über mehr als drei Kilometern zählt, in denen die Terrassen und eine Vielzahl von Freizeitplänen nicht fehlen. Dieser Strand gilt als einer der besten Stadtstrände der Welt. Goldener Sand, klares Wasser, eine Korallenmauer, die ein ganz anderes Meer bildet als man es gewohnt ist… Die Sonnenuntergänge am Strand von Las Canteras sind spektakulär, mit dem Auditorium, das vor hohen Bergen geschützt ist, die die Sonne auf schüchterne, aber sichere Weise verstecken.

Das gleiche passiert, wenn wir über Routen sprechen. Wir beziehen uns nicht ausschließlich auf die Wanderwege, um die Insel eingehend kennen zulernen. Wir sprechen auch über die Dörfer von Gran Canaria. Diese kennenzulernen, durch die Straßen zu spazieren, die Menschen kennenzulernen … kurz gesagt, die Geschichte, Kultur und Bräuche Gran Canarias kennenzulernen.

Jedes Dorf hat seine Geschichte, Lebensweise und Menschen, die ganz anders erzogen wurden als seine Bewohner aus dem Landesinneren oder von der Küste stammen. Inlanddörfer basierten (und basieren) ihr Leben und ihre Wirtschaft auf Viehzucht und Landwirtschaft. Es wird immer gesagt, dass die Landbevölkerung sehr edel ist, da sie an ein ruhiges Leben ohne viele Menschen gewöhnt ist.

Andererseits die Küstenstädte leben vom Meer. Das Leben auf See ist sehr hart, das sagen man immer. Sich dem Fischen zu widmen, davon zu leben und alles, was das Meer bietet, ist sehr kompliziert. Die Fischer sehen die Sonnenaufgänge von ihren Booten bereits auf hoher See und kommen erst nach dem Sonnenuntergang erst wieder nach Hause. Die Fischer sind starke und mutige Menschen und das spiegelt sich im Charakter der Küstendörfer und der dort lebenden Familien wider.

Die Gespräche hier sind sehr interessant. Jeder von ihnen ist immer froh über sein Leben, der Neugier der Menschen oder lustige Anekdoten zu zu erzählen, was dort passiert ist (und passiert).

It is the meeting point for many, for those who want to talk about their daily lives, to connect on a deep level with their loved ones and with all those friends they have met after so many years coming to Palm Oasis.

You can play board games, talk about all kinds of things, or simply have a drink while you disconnect from real life, from everything that happens outside Palm Oasis.

There are also many who come to spend their holidays in Palm Oasis, but also with the aim of getting to know the island. Hay quien prefiere venir a Palm Oasis en verano, vivir sus vacaciones bajo el sol de agoto y el clima de esa temporada. Durante los meses de verano Palm Oasis se llena de familias, de niños que disfrutan durante largas horas de las piscinas y el tobogán. El colegio ha terminado en los meses anteriores, así que en julio y agosto hay que pensar solo en descansar y en disfrutar de los días de vacaciones.

Some people prefer to come to Palm Oasis during the summer, and spend their holidays under the August sun and the good weather of the summer season. During the summer months Palm Oasis is filled with families and children who spend hours enjoying the pool and the slide. School is out for summer and so in July and August they only have to think about resting and enjoying their holidays.

Over the years, many of our visitors have been coming here during the summer season over and over again because it is the time of the year they prefer to spend a few days under the sun and get to know the island of Gran Canaria. In fact, summer is a great time to visit the island, and to spend a few days in Palm Oasis with their families.

Days are long and the sun shines in the sky for many hours, which means our guests can enjoy our pools, gardens and, of course, our Pool Bar as well, to the fullest. Nights are so pleasant nights you will want nothing else than to finish a perfect day at Palm Oasis by enjoying a drink in one of our terraces.

However, many of our guests prefer to come stay with us during the winter season and Christmas time. Usually, it is very cold where they come from (almost anywhere it is colder than here!), so when they arrive at Palm Oasis, they appreciate the lovely weather and enjoy their stay even more (if that’s possible!).

Las Canteras Beach

This beach is considered as one of the best urban beaches in Europe, a long golden sand beach with calm waters which stretches out for several kilometres along the bay. Nublo Rural Park

The largest natural space on the island. It covers 26,000 hectares of the island and has thirty small population centers. It is the largest natural space in Gran Canaria and has been declared a Biosphere Reserve. Several roads on the island provide access to the park and its viewpoints, from which you will be able to enjoy the stunning views.

The Port of Mogán

This is a charming seafaring district with a small beach that gives the town a lot of charm, a unique refuge where you can recharge your batteries. Die Dünen von Maspalomas

Diese erstaunliche Mischung aus Wüste und Oase im Süden der Insel ist ein einzigartiger Naturraum für seine Schönheit und für die große Vielfalt der darin beheimateten Ökosysteme. Die Dünen, die der Wind ständig verändert, verändern die Landschaft mit jedem neuen Tag und sind eine der Haupttouristenattraktionen des südlichen Teils der Insel.

Strand von Las Canteras

Er gilt als einer der besten Stadtstrände Europas und ist ein langer Strand mit goldenem Sand und ruhigem Wasser, der sich über mehrere Kilometer entlang der Bucht erstreckt. Im Herzen der Stadt kann man nicht nur den natürlichen Charme, sondern auch die Qualität der touristischen Dienstleistungen genießen.

Naturschutzpark Nublo

Der größte Naturraum der Insel. 26.000 Hektar der Insel und hat dreißig kleine Bevölkerungszentren. Es ist der größte Naturraum auf Gran Canaria und wurde zum Biosphärenreservat erklärt. Durante todo el año recibimos a personas increíbles. Muchas de ellas vienen por primera vez, pero muchas otras llevan años escogiéndonos como su lugar de referencia en el que pasar las vacaciones.

Como sabes, nos encanta cuidar de Palm Oasis. Nos encanta tener los jardines tan cuidados, las fuentes tan espectaculares, y las piscinas tan limpias y con la temperatura perfecta.

En Palm Oasis cuidamos los detalles. Sabemos lo importante que es llegar a tu lugar escogido para pasar las vacaciones y encontrarte todo perfecto. Las villas y las habitaciones y lugares comunes perfectamente limpios, el Buffet preparado para que puedas disfrutar de las mejores cenas… Todo lo que hacemos es poco para que tengas lo que mereces.

En Palm Oasis nos encanta recibir buenas palabras, nos encanta que, antes de marcharse del hotel, y al despedirse de nosotros, nos digan frases como “hemos estado muy bien”, “lo hemos pasado genial”, “está todo perfecto”, y sobre todo “volveremos”.

Nos encanta cuando alguien viene por primera vez, ver su cara y su reacción al encontrarse con su habitación, pasear por nuestros jardines con cara de paz y tranquilidad y, sobre todo, ver que en el momento de la despedida les cambia la cara, y sienten pena, o no se quieren ir.

Todas estas reacciones de quienes vienen a pasar sus vacaciones a Palm Oasis, para nosotros son el mejor regalo. Porque trabajamos día a día para que todo esté perfecto, y para que, cada persona que esté en Palm Oasis encuentre lo que desee y disfrute como quiere de su concepto de vacaciones.

All year round we welcome to our hotel so many incredible people. Many of them come here for the first time, but may others have been choosing us for years as their favourite place to spend their holidays.

As you know, we love taking care of Palm Oasis. We love to keep the gardens in perfect condition, the fountains spectacular, and the pools clean and at the perfect temperature.

At Palm Oasis, we pay attention to the smallest details. We know how important it is to arrive at your chosen destination to spend your holidays and find everything perfect: the villas and the rooms and the common places are perfectly clean, the buffet is ready so that you can enjoy the most delicious dinner… Nothing we do is too much trouble for us, we want to make sure you have what you deserve.

Here, at Palm Oasis, we love to hear nice words about our hotel, we love that, before leaving the hotel, and when saying goodbye to us, we hear our guests say things like «we had a great stay», «we had a wonderful time», «everything was perfect», and specially «we will come back».

All diese Reaktionen derjenigen, die ihren Urlaub im Palm Oasis verbringen wollen, sind für uns das beste Geschenk. Weil wir jeden Tag daran arbeiten, dass alles perfekt ist und jeder Mensch in Palm Oasis das findet, was er möchte, und sein Urlaubskonzept so genießt, wie er möchte.

Hace un tiempo que venimos hablando de nuestras villas, una parte muy especial de Palm Oasis, y que, a su vez, cuenta mucho sobre la isla de Gran Canaria.

Las villas son el lugar escogido por muchos de ustedes debido a las comodidades que presenta. Entre otras, convertirse el lugar ideal para pasar unas vacaciones en familia.

Palm Oasis tiene un total de veinte villas. Hoy, para acabar con las presentaciones de todas ellas, hablaremos de Doramas y Juncalillo. Comenzamos hablado de ellas hace un tiempo y aquí terminamos con las menciones explicativas de todas ellas.

Como curiosidad contaremos que, según la leyenda, el nombre Doramas viene del guerrero canario que vivió a mediados del siglo XV y que fue uno de los principales líderes de la resistencia indígena en la isla de Gran Canaria frente a los Reyes Católicos. Es por eso que es un nombre muy importante ya que aporta mucho significado a la fuerza y también a la tradición de la isla.

En este caso, la villa llamada Doramas en Palm Oasis, lo hace debido a una zona en el norte de Gran Canaria que, aunque no está directamente relacionada con el nombre histórico, sí que lo está con la tradición de la isla.

Doramas es una zona montañosa de aguas frescas, sitios curiosos y cuevas toscamente hechas. Aquí la vegetación es muy variada, y sus cimas parecen interminables gracias a ella. Su arboleda era tan rica, que hubo una época en la que la tala de troncos para utilizar su madera era incesante, por lo que se creó una ley para acabar con esto y no dejar así la montaña de Doramas sin su principal habitante: la naturaleza.

Algo muy llamativo también de la montaña de Doramas es que, debido a su amplitud, pasa por varios de los municipios del norte de Gran Canaria, como son Arucas, Firgas, Moya, Santa María de Guía, Teror y Valleseco.

Juncalillo es un núcleo urbano que pertenece al municipio de Gáldar, en el norte de la isla de Gran Canaria. Cuenta con un caserío muy llamativo ya que es el más alto de la zona, y también porque aquí hay varios accidentes geológicos que resaltan con solo mirar hacia la zona.

En Juncalillo aún se vive de la artesanía, de la tradición y del trabajo manual de los campesinos y sus mujeres. Una de las actividades más populares es la transformación de la lana. Esta actividad, y la de los habitantes de Juncalillo, se vio envuelta en una crisis cuando hubo un éxodo rural hacia la costa, cuando allí se requería mano de obra para la atención al turismo, sobre todo.

Antiguamente, la población se encontraba muy ligada a la tradición natural, de manera que se producía una explotación tradicional con estanques, acequias y cantoneras. Más adelante, estas instalaciones se modernizaron convirtiéndose en galerías, pozos y presas.

Actualmente su población es envejecida y solo quedan unos pocos jóvenes que han mantenido el vínculo con el pueblo. Pero algo indiscutible es que este lugar mantiene intacto el encanto gracias a la tradición, a la atención personalizada, y al buen carácter de sus habitantes.

We have been talking about our villas for quite some time now, as they are a very special part of Palm Oasis, and they tell us so much about the history of the island of Gran Canaria.

Our villas are the accommodation that many of you choose due to the comforts they offer, such as becoming the perfect place to spend your family holidays.

Palm Oasis has a total of twenty villas. Today, we are going to tell you all about the last two remaining ones: Doramas and Juncalillo. We started telling you the history behind the names of our villas long ago, and today we have reached the end.

Here is a cool fact: legend has it that Doramas was the name of a Canarian warrior who lived in mid-15th century and was one of the leaders of the indigenous resistance on the island of Gran Canaria against the Catholic Kings. That is why this is such an important name as it brings meaning to the strength and tradition of the island.

In this case, the villa in Palm Oasis known as Doramas is named after an area in the north of Gran Canaria that is not linked to the historic name of the warrior, but with the tradition of the island.

Doramas is a mountainous region with fresh water, charming spots and rough caves. Here, the vegetation is so abundant and varied that the mountain peaks seem never ending. There was a time when the grove was so rich that timber harvesting was relentless and a law had to be created to put an end to it so as not to destroy the mountain’s main inhabitant: nature.

It is also interesting to note that Doramas mountain is so vast that it stretches over several northern municipalities of Gran Canaria such as Arucas, Firgas, Moya, Santa María de Guía, Teror and Valleseco.

Juncalillo is an urban area that belongs to the municipality of Gáldar, on the north of the island of Gran Canaria. There you can find a very striking hamlet, the highest one in the area. There are also some geographical features that stand out and are easily noticeable at a glance.

In Juncalillo, local crafts, tradition and manual labour is how the local countrymen and women make a living. One of the most popular activities is wool processing. This and the rest of activities of the inhabitants of Juncalillo fell into crisis when a rural exodus took place and the people started moving towards the coast, as they were needed there to work in the tourism industry in particular.

In the past, the people in this area was closely linked to natural tradition, and traditional farming was practiced using ponds, irrigation ditches and cantoneras (a Canarian irrigation system). Later, these facilities were modernised and turned into galleries, wells and dams.

Today, its population is ageing and there are only a few young people left who have maintained the link with the town. But there is no doubt that this place has kept its charm intact thanks to its tradition, personalised attention, and the good nature of its inhabitants.

Doramas ist eine bergige Gegend mit frischem Wasser, merkwürdigen Orten und unbearbeiteten Höhlen. Hier ist die Vegetation sehr abwechslungsreich und die Gipfel scheinen dank ihr endlos zu sein. Sein Hain war so reich, dass es eine Zeit gab, in der das Fällen von Holzstämmen zur Nutzung seines Holzes unaufhörlich war. Daher wurde ein Gesetz erlassen, um dies zu beenden und den Berg Doramas nicht ohne seinen Hauptbewohner zu lassen: der Natur.

Sehr auffällig ist auch, dass der Berg Doramas aufgrund seiner Ausdehnung mehrere Gemeinden im Norden Gran Canarias erfasst, darunter Arucas, Firgas, Moya, Santa María de Guía, Teror und Valleseco.

Juncalillo ist ein Dörfchen das zur Gemeinde Gáldar im Norden der Insel Gran Canaria gehört. Es hat ein auffälliges Dorf, da es das höchste in der Gegend ist, und auch, weil es hier diverse Höhenunterschiede gibt, die bereits durch einen Blick auf die Gegend auffallen.

In Juncalillo sind Handwerk, Tradition und Handarbeit der Bauern und ihrer Frauen noch lebendig. Eine der beliebtesten Aktivitäten ist die Umwandlung von Wolle. Diese und die Aktivitäten der Einwohner von Juncalillo waren in eine Krise verwickelt, als es zu einem Landgang an die Küste kam und vor allem Arbeitskräfte benötigt wurden, um dem Tourismus Aufmerksamkeit zu schenken.

Früher war die Bevölkerung sehr an die Naturtradition gebunden, so dass eine traditionelle Ausbeutung mit Wasserbecken, Wassergräben und Steinverarbeitung erfolgte. Später wurden diese Einrichtungen modernisiert und in Stollen, Brunnen und Dämme verwandelt.

Heutzutage ist die Bevölkerung gealtert und es gibt nur wenige junge Leute, die die Verbindung zum Dorf aufrechterhalten haben. Unbestritten ist jedoch, dass dieser Ort den Charme dank Tradition, persönlicher Aufmerksamkeit und dem guten Charakter seiner Bewohner bewahrt.

Las Dunas de Maspalomas son un lugar muy especial. Muchos comparan esta maravilla de lugar con un supuesto desierto junto al mar. Las dunas se pueden recorrer perfectamente, pero también existe un mirador, que es el lugar ideal para disfrutar de unas estupendas vistas y una única puesta de sol.

Otra de las playas familiares por excelencia de la isla de Gran Canaria es la Playa de Las Canteras. Esta playa se encuentra en la capital de la isla, en Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, y es una de las mejores playas urbanas de España. Esto se debe a la autenticidad de lo que allí puedes encontrar. Es una playa de más de tres kilómetros de longitud, y a lo largo de este recorrido podrás encontrar infinidad de terrazas y restaurantes donde tomar algo, bien sea una bebida o una comida típica canaria. A lo largo de la playa también encontrarás diferentes zonas, donde las mareas cambian y también la fuerza de éstas. Te recomendamos que busques una zona tranquila, y que dediques el día simplemente a descansar y a disfrutar de tus vacaciones.

Si quieres pasar un día con los más pequeños de la familia hay otras playas en las que puedes pasar un estupendo y tranquilo día. En la zona sur de la isla se encuentran la playa de Las Burras y la de Puerto Rico. Ambas son playas muy tranquilas, y son las que escogen las familias para pasar un día de juegos y diversión con los más pequeños. Sus accesos son fáciles, cuentan con zonas de parking cercano y, además, sus mareas son tranquilas.

Si ninguno de los planes que te comentamos te apetece, y lo que quieres es hacer deporte, te recomendamos varias… Si quieres practicar surf o windsurf, las playas ideales para hacerlo son Pozo Izquierdo y La Cícer. Si quieres practicar submarinismo, puedes hacerlo en Las Canteras, o también en Tufia, una playa que pertenece al municipio de Telde y que tiene muchísimo encanto. ¡Es muy diferente al resto!

Today, we are going to talk about the stunning beaches in Gran Canaria. The coastline of our island is thousands of kilometres long, most of it consisting of beautiful beaches. All of them are very different from one another and each of them is perfect for a given moment or situation. Which one is your favourite beach in Gran Canaria?

As we like to say here at Palm Oasis, each beach has a special charm and each one is perfect depending on your plans for the day.

If you want to rest in the south of Gran Canaria, we recommend that you spend the day in Maspalomas. It is the perfect beach to relax, enjoy the sunny days and swim in the calm waters of the ocean. Many of our visitors choose Maspalomas beach in particular because it is located near our hotel and is easily accessible. It is also the perfect place to spend a relaxing day and then cap it off either with a nice drink on the promenade along the beach or a stroll along the Dunes of Maspalomas.

The Dunes of Maspalomas are a very special place. Many people compare this beautiful spot to a desert by the sea. You can stroll along the dunes, but there is also a viewpoint, which is ideal to enjoy the great views and stunning sunset.

Another beach that is perfect for families in the island of Gran Canaria is Las Canteras beach. This beach is located in the capital city of the island, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and it is one of the best urban beaches in Spain, particularly because the authenticity of what you can find there. It is more than three kilometers long, and along its promenade you will find plenty of terraces and restaurants where you can have a drink or enjoy some typical Canarian food. The tides and currents vary a lot along the length of the beach. We recommend that you find a quiet spot, and spend the day resting and enjoying your days off.

If you want to spend the day with the youngest members of the family, there are also many other beaches where you can have a great and peaceful day. In the southern part of the island you will find the beaches of Las Burras and Puerto Rico. Both are very quiet and are the ones chosen by many families to spend a day full of games and fun with the little ones. In addition, the access to these beaches is easy, there are parking areas nearby and tides are calm.

If none of the previous suggestions work for you because you would rather spend the day practising sports, there are also several other beaches that can be perfect for you… If you want to practice surf or windsurf, the beaches of Pozo Izquierdo and La Cícer are the ones for you. If you prefer scuba diving, you can go to Las Canteras o even Tufia, a beach located in the municipality of Telde, which is full of charm. It is definitely quite different from the others!

Heute möchten wir über die Strände auf Gran Canaria sprechen. Auf dieser Insel gibt es kilometerlange Küsten, die meisten Strände. Alle sind sehr unterschiedlich und jeder von ihnen ist perfekt für einen Moment oder eine Situation. Welcher ist Euer Lieblingsstrand auf Gran Canaria?

Wie wir in Palm Oasis sagen, hat jeder Strand seinen Charme und es gibt perfekte Strände, je nachdem, welchen Plan man für den Tag hat.

Wenn Ihr euch im Süden Gran Canarias ausruhen möchtet, empfehlen wir den Tag in Maspalomas zu verbringen. Dieser Strand lädt zum Entspannen, genießen eines sonnigen Tages und Schwimmen im ruhigen Meer ein.

Der Strand von Maspalomas wird unter anderem aufgrund der Nähe und Erreichbarkeit des Strandes von vielen Besuchern im Palm Oasis gewählt. Darüber hinaus ist es der perfekte Ort, um einen erholsamen Tag zu verbringen und zu beenden oder einen Drink an der Strandpromenade oder in den Dünen von Maspalomas zu genießen.

Die Dünen von Maspalomas sind ein ganz besonderer Ort. Viele vergleichen dieses Ortswunder mit einer vermeintlichen Wüste am Meer. Die Dünen können perfekt überquert werden, aber es gibt auch einen Aussichtspunkt, der der ideale Ort ist, um eine großartige Aussicht und einen einzigartigen Sonnenuntergang zu genießen.

Ein weiterer Familienstrand der Insel Gran Canaria ist der von Playa de Las Canteras. Dieser Strand befindet sich in der Hauptstadt der Insel, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, und ist einer der besten Stadtstrände in Spanien. Dies liegt an der Echtheit dessen, was Sie dort finden können. Der Strand ist mehr als drei Kilometer lang und entlang dieser Route findet man viele Terrassen und Restaurants, auf denen man entweder ein typisch kanarisches Getränk oder eine Mahlzeit zu sich nehmen kann. Entlang des Strandes findet man auch verschiedene Bereiche, in denen sich die Gezeiten ändern und auch die Stärke dieser. Wir empfehlen eine ruhige Gegend zu suchen und den Tag nur zum Ausruhen und Genießen des Urlaubs zu verwenden.

Wenn man einen Tag mit den Kleinsten der Familie verbringen möchte, gibt es andere Strände, an denen man einen schönen und ruhigen Tag verbringen kann. Im südlichen Teil der Insel befinden sich die Strände Las Burras und Puerto Rico. Beide Strände sind sehr ruhig und für Familien ideal, um mit den Kleinen einen Tag voller Spiel und Spaß zu verbringen. Die Zufahrt ist einfach, es gibt Parkplätze in der Nähe und die Gezeiten sind ruhig.

Wenn Euch keiner der Pläne, die wir erwähnt haben gefällt und man Sport machen will, empfehlen wir mehrere … Wenn Ihr surfen wollt oder Windsurfen, die idealen Strände dafür sind Pozo Izquierdo und La Cicer. Wenn Ihr tauchen möchtet, könnt Ihr dies in Las Canteras oder auch in Tufia tun, einem Strand, der zur Gemeinde Telde gehört und viel Charme hat. Er ist ganz anders als die anderen!

Hace un tiempo que venimos hablando de nuestras villas, una parte muy especial de Palm Oasis, y que, a su vez, cuenta mucho sobre la isla de Gran Canaria.

Las villas son el lugar escogido por muchos de ustedes debido a las comodidades que presenta. Entre otras, convertirse el lugar ideal para pasar unas vacaciones en familia.

Palm Oasis tiene un total de veinte villas, y dos de ellas, de las que hablaremos hoy, son Caideros y Miraflor.

Caideros es una zona que pertenece al municipio de Gáldar, en el noroeste de Gran Canaria. En Gáldar se encuentra uno de los yacimientos arqueológicos más representativos de Canarias, la Cueva Pintada, donde se exhibe una muestra del arte realizado por los antiguos canarios.

Gáldar es un pueblo con mucho encanto, que cuenta con un casco antiguo ideal para pasear y conocer un poco más la historia y también la vida diaria de esa zona de Gran Canaria.

Caideros es un territorio que pertenece a este municipio, y es una de las zonas de la isla que da nombre a una de nuestras villas. ¿Por qué? Porque nos encanta, porque creemos que es un lugar que tiene algo especial, que muestra mucho sobre la Gran Canaria, y por eso creímos, en su momento, que debía ser parte de Palm Oasis.

El nombre de esta zona surge a raíz de una antigua ermita que es parte muy importante de Caideros. Aunque a día de hoy no se encuentra en buen estado, en su día fue un lugar muy destacado de la zona.

La economía de estos pueblos de medianías se basa en la agricultura y la ganadería. La mayoría de las familias que viven aquí, se dedican a este sector.

Como suelen decir, es un pueblo pequeño en tamaño pero muy grande en costumbres, ¡un lugar especial!

Miraflor pertenece al municipio de Teror, al norte de la isla. Es interior, y este pueblo es conocido, sobre todo, por sus pintorescas calles y casas, y también porque en él se venera la imagen de la virgen del Pino, patrona de la provincia de Las Palmas. Como dato curioso podemos decir que es el municipio más pequeño en superficie de la isla.

Miraflor cuenta con menos de ochocientos habitantes, es una zona de mucha tradición y donde viven familias que llevan ahí desde siempre.

Es un antiguo caserío situado en un barranco (el barranco de Lezcano), donde se construyeron presas y a raíz de ellas, el primer asentamiento junto al camino real.

Antiguamente, pasaba por aquí la virgen cuando la llevaban a la ciudad, y por eso muchos de los habitantes de la isla conocen este barrio y también su peculiaridad.

Debido a esto, siempre se ha dicho de Miraflor que, “es un barrio de historia de caminantes, de bajadas de la virgen a la ciudad”.

Por eso, por su historia y por la forma tan curiosa en la que surgió, Miraflor forma parte de las villas de Palm Oasis.

We have been talking about our villas for quite some time now, as they are a very special part of Palm Oasis, and they tell a great deal about the island of Gran Canaria.

Our villas are the accommodation that many of you choose due to the comforts they offer, such as becoming the perfect place to spend a family vacation.

Palm Oasis has a total of twenty villas and today we are going to talk about two of them: Caideros and Miraflor.

Caideros is an area that belongs to the municipality of Gáldar, in the northwest of Gran Canaria. Gáldar is home to one of the most representative archaeological sites in the islands, the Cueva Pintada (Painted Cave), where a sample of the art made by the ancient Canarians is exhibited.

Gáldar is a charming village. Its old town is the ideal place to go for a stroll and get to know the history and daily life of this area of Gran Canaria.

Caideros is part of this municipality, and it is one of the regions in the island that gives name to one of our villas. Why? Because we love it, because we believe this place has something special, and shows a lot about Gran Canaria. That’s why we decided, at the time, that it should be part of Palm Oasis.

The name of this area comes from an old chapel that is a very important part of Caideros. Although it is not in good condition today, it was once a very prominent place in the area.

The economy of these villages is based on agriculture and livestock farming. Most of the families that live here are dedicated to this sector.

As they usually say: it is a small town in size but rich in customs, a truly special place!

Miraflor belongs to the municipality of Teror, in the north of the island. It is an inland town, particularly known for its picturesque streets and houses, and also because the Virgen del Pino, patron saint of the province of Las Palmas, is venerated there. It is curious to note that this is the smallest municipality in terms of surface in the island.

Miraflor has less than eight hundred inhabitants, it is an area of great tradition and most local families have been living there for years.

It is an old hamlet located in a ravine (the Lezcano ravine), where dams were built and, as a result, the first settlement was born, next to the Royal Road.

In the past, the virgin used to pass through here when she was taken in procession to the city, which is why many of the island’s inhabitants are familiar with this neighbourhood and its characteristics.

Because of this, it has always been said of Miraflor that, «it is a neighbourhood with a history of walkers who carry the virgin down to the city.

For this reason, because of its history and the curious way in which it was born, Miraflor is part of the villas of Palm Oasis.

Wir reden schon lange über unsere Villen, die ein ganz besonderer Teil von Palm Oasis sind und viel von der Insel Gran Canaria erzählen.

Die Villen sind der Ort, die viele von Euch aufgrund der Annehmlichkeiten ausgewählt haben und werden unter anderem zum idealen Ort für einen Familienurlaub.

Palm Oasis verfügt über insgesamt 20 Villen. Zwei davon, von denen wir heute sprechen werden, sind Caideros und Miraflor.

Caideros ist ein Gebiet, das zur Gemeinde Gáldar im Nordwesten von Gran Canaria gehört. In Gáldar befindet sich eine der repräsentativsten archäologischen Stätten der Kanarischen Inseln, die Cueva Pintada, wo ein Beweis der Kunst der alten Kanarier ausgestellt ist.

Gáldar ist eine Stadt mit viel Charme. Sie hat eine ideale Altstadt, um spazieren zu gehen und etwas mehr über die Geschichte und das tägliche Leben dieser Gegend von Gran Canaria zu erfahren.

Caideros ist ein Gebiet, das zu dieser Gemeinde gehört und ist eine der Gegenden der Insel, die einer unserer Villen den Namen gibt. Warum? Weil wir es lieben, weil wir denken, dass es ein Ort ist, der etwas Besonderes hat, der viel über Gran Canaria zeigt und deshalb glaubten wir damals, dass er Teil von Palm Oasis sein sollte.

Der Name dieses Gebiets stammt von einer alten Einsiedelei, die ein sehr wichtiger Teil von Caideros ist. Obwohl diese heute nicht in gutem Zustand ist, war es einst ein sehr bekannter Ort in der Umgebung.

Die Wirtschaft dieser mittelständischen Städte basiert auf Landwirtschaft und Viehzucht. Die meisten Familien, die hier leben, widmen sich diesem Sektor.

Wie man sagt, ist es eine kleine Ortschaft, aber sehr groß in seinem Brauch, ein besonderer Ort!

Miraflor gehört zur Gemeinde Teror, nördlich der Insel. Es ist ein Binnenland und dieser Ort ist vor allem für seine malerischen Strassen und Häuser bekannt und auch weil er die Heiligenfigur der Jungfrau namens Pino, der Schutzpatronin der Provinz Las Palmas, verehrt. Merkwürdigerweise können wir sagen, dass es sich um die kleinste Gemeinde der Insel handelt.

Miraflor hat weniger als achthundert Einwohner, es ist ein Gebiet mit großer Tradition, in dem Familien leben, die dort schon immer gelebt haben.

Es ist ein altes Dörfchen in einer Schlucht (der Schlucht von Lezcano), wo Staudämme errichtet wurden und als Folge davon die erste Siedlung neben der Hauptstrasse.

Früher kam die Jungfrau hier vorbei, als man sie in die Stadt brachte. Deshalb kennen viele Bewohner der Insel diese Gegend und auch ihre Eigenartigkeit. Aus diesem Grund wurde von Miraflor immer gesagt, dass «es ein Viertel mit einer Geschichte von Wanderern ist, den Abstieg der Jungfrau in die Stadt».

Deshalb ist Miraflor aufgrund seiner Geschichte und der kuriosen Art und Weise, wie es entstanden ist, Teil der Villen von Palm Oasis.
